We’re doing pretty well here at Better Chinese. For those of you who don’t know, we recently launched the pilot version of our Discovering Chinese for the iPad, which was used in a month-long Chinese language immersion program.

For those of you who attended the NCLC conference last week, we probably all agree that it was a successful/exciting event. We were given the opportunity to hear great speakers such as Kurt Campbell, Assistant Secretary of State for East Asian and Pacific Affairs, talk about the importance of U.S.- China relations as well as wonderful performances given by talented students in the Bay Area.

Full-time position available for 2011-12 academic year. Candidate will teach science, social studies, religion, reading, and language art in Mandarin to students in Kindergarten and 1st Grade, in a half-day full immersion program. Must have a Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent), CLAD or BCLAD certificate, and at least 2 years of classroom experience with students in this age range. Experience in an international school or setting is preferred, including knowledge of the PYP program.

There are many great learning tools Chinese learning students of different age groups can use when learning Chinese. Early age reading books, DVDs, now the Internet provides great resources. One great resource people are not aware of are the Western movies dubbed into Chinese.
